The Zimbabwe Association of Church-related Hospitals (ZACH) marks a significant moment in its institutional history as Mrs Vuyelwa Thandeka Sidile-Chitimbire concludes her tenure as Executive Director after 25 years of distinguished service to the organisation and to faith-based health in Zimbabwe. Mrs Chitimbire's leadership has been instrumental in shaping ZACH into the nationally recognised health coordination body it is today — navigating the organisation through economic challenges, the COVID-19 pandemic, and a period of significant programme growth.
The ZACH Board of Directors has appointed Dr Nonhlanhla Zwangobani as the incoming Executive Director. Dr Zwangobani brings deep experience in public health and health systems strengthening, and steps into the role with a mandate to build on the institutional foundations laid by her predecessor while steering ZACH through the evolving landscape of faith-based health delivery in Zimbabwe.
A formal handover and farewell event celebrated Mrs Chitimbire's 25-year contribution to ZACH and to the health of communities across Zimbabwe. Board members, staff, long-serving partners, and representatives from member institutions gathered to honour her legacy — one defined by compassion, persistence, and an unwavering commitment to the mission that has guided ZACH since its founding: that every Zimbabwean, regardless of where they live, deserves access to quality, dignified healthcare.
