The Goal to this meeting was to introduce, inspire, gain ownership from Faith Community, Traditional, and Justice Sector Leaders in the Faith & Community Initiative.
The Ministry of Health and Child Care set the tone up by giving a very detailed background to Zimbabwe’s HIV Response in the past 30 years to later, addressing key achievements, gaps, challenges in finding children, young people, men and also the cause of high loss of clients on HIV treatment.
Also. our partner AFRICAID participated bringing us knowledge on the Perspective of Young Person’s Living with HIV as well as the Male perspective of Faith and Religion influence on uptake of HIV services.
OPHID also participated in the setting up of two Technical Working Groups for Messages of Hope adaptation and materials development and Justice for Children.
Many members of the community attended the meeting to make it a success including the Zimbabwe Heads Of Christian Denominations, the Judaizers, Musicians (Mambo Dhuterere), the Baha’i faith, Zimbabwe Council of Churches, Traditional Leaders to mention a few.
